Cookware
What Should I Do With It?
Cookware, which includes metal pots, pans, and baking sheets, cannot be recycled in standard curbside bins, but there are highly effective ways to keep these materials out of landfills. If your kitchen items are still in usable condition, donating them to local thrift shops or charities is the best way to extend their life. For metal cookware that is too damaged or worn to use, taking it to a local scrap metal yard is an excellent alternative, as metals can be melted down and reused indefinitely. To reduce future kitchen waste altogether, consider investing in versatile, high-quality pieces like cast iron, which can easily last a lifetime when cared for properly.
Before throwing this away, see if it can be fixed up, given to a friend, or donated to a local thrift shop. Keeping items in use is the best way to stop waste before it starts!
