Dryer Sheets and Lint

What Should I Do With It?

Laundry waste items like dryer sheets and dryer lint cannot be recycled or composted and must be thrown in the regular garbage. Because modern clothing is heavily made of synthetic materials like polyester and nylon, the lint collected from the dryer screen contains microplastics that will not break down in a compost pile, while dryer sheets are coated in heat-activated chemical softeners. Switch to reusable wool dryer balls to reduce static and waste.

💡 Helpful Tip

Before throwing this away, see if it can be fixed up, given to a friend, or donated to a local thrift shop. Keeping items in use is the best way to stop waste before it starts!
