Glassware (Pyrex, Crystal, Dishware)

Household ✅ Standard Recycling

What Should I Do With It?

Household glassware including kitchen dishware, drinking glasses, and food jars cannot all be recycled the same way. Standard jars and bottles are fully recyclable in your curbside bin, but you must never mix specialty glassware like Pyrex, tempered borosilicate, or crystal into regular recycling. These materials are engineered to withstand high heat and have different melting points, meaning they will contaminate the recycling stream and must go in the garbage.

💡 Helpful Tip

Before throwing this away, see if it can be fixed up, given to a friend, or donated to a local thrift shop. Keeping items in use is the best way to stop waste before it starts!
