Latex Gloves
What Should I Do With It?
Standard disposable gloves including latex, vinyl, and nitrile varieties are universally excluded from residential curbside recycling programs. For everyday disposal, all used gloves must be discarded directly into the regular garbage stream, as synthetic materials like nitrile and vinyl are non-biodegradable and cannot be composted. To minimize your environmental impact, consider switching to naturally biodegradable latex gloves sourced from certified sustainable forests. Additionally, while individual curbside recycling is not an option, high-volume organizations and large facilities can look into specialty third-party mail-in recycling programs that accept bulk collection boxes for dedicated processing.
Before throwing this away, see if it can be fixed up, given to a friend, or donated to a local thrift shop. Keeping items in use is the best way to stop waste before it starts!
