What Should I Do With It?

While many kinds of wrapping paper are accepted by curbside recycling programs, you should perform a few quick tests to make sure yours is recyclable. First, try scrunching the paper into a ball. If it holds its shape when you let go, it is likely safe for the recycling bin. You can also try tearing a small piece; if you notice a stretchy plastic film along the edges of the tear, keep it out of your curbside recycling. However, if the torn edge looks rough and fibrous, you are good to go.

💡 Helpful Tip

Before throwing this away, see if it can be fixed up, given to a friend, or donated to a local thrift shop. Keeping items in use is the best way to stop waste before it starts!
